Ada's #17 (I've been traveling, so more to come...)

Practicing Someone Else

She tucks the thick sound into

her pocket and takes it to the street,

she’s going to stay all day in someone

else’s voice. She’s a tremor, a nerve,

a border crossed with a big toe.

Once, she kissed a kid who died

and even his lip-print bristles on

her bouncing skin still, now, here.
